I saw it in 3d because the guy behind the counter told me I'd get a free t-shirt if I did. I am not a fan of 3d but I am converting. For some reason the movie worked in that format. I think a big part of that is the giant screen that is usually associated with it.

Project X (2012) -- Extended versionTotally ridiculous, but a ton of fun and pretty funny in places. Produced by Todd Phillips (Director of The Hangover) and it seems to be about the ultimate House Party (minus Kid and Play), so of course it had to be directed by a Brit...of Iranian extraction. It's his first film, but he has directed commercials and music videos including the adidas House Party ad that landed him the job: I know this is late but an old friend, Michael Bacall (actually Buccellato), wrote the screenplay. We go way back to his Highway to Heaven and Free Willy days. Now that he's been doing screenplays and working with Tarantino I don't see him as much.

The Grey
A really good action/thriller, looked and sounded (seems weird to say, but the SFX editing was great, best whipping wind sounds ever; good wolf growling too).
Neeson is great as always.
The Station Agent
I don't know why it's taken me this long to see it, but it was well worth the wait. I loved this film. Dinklage was great (as always), as was Patricia Clarkson. And Bobby Cannavale should be bigger.
See it, if you haven't.
Oh, and Roger Sterling makes an appearance.

I said it on the other board and I'll say it here. Prometheus sucked.
I can't remember being so let down by a film before this over hyped pile of crap. The central story was perfect and they ruined with laughable monsters and standard action flick characters. Skip it.

I'd say Prometheus is worth seeing, but it was a big let down. The more I think about it, the less I like it.

I'll give you that most of the stuff with the crew was stupid, but Noomi did good in her role, Michael Fassbender was incredible, and there is hope that the sequel fixes the idiot catering to the masses with characters making bad choices and the aliens being retarded. You have to at least admit it has the components for a great film, despite Scott sticking to his recycled formulas. I'd love to see Cameron jump in for the sequel and show us how it's supposed to be done.

Cameron would dumb it down even more.
I do agree the components are there. This could've been a great film, with a better screenwriter.

I'd like to think Cameron can create an amazing sequel but maybe you're right. I may be in the minority that disliked Avatar. I just don't know who could turn this spin-off into the next great sci-fi masterpiece. I really do think it has the makings for it.
